Money certainly makes the world go around. Just ask the nephew of Thelma Amante, who ran away after he allegedly stole cash that almost amounted to PHP 4000,000 in total.
According to ABS-CBN News, the incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017. She initially shared her experience on Facebook, where she appealed to the public for help in finding her nephew identified as John Rodolfo Ruperto or “Jay-R.”
An excerpt of her status reads:
“Jr. Ibalik mo yung pera naging pagkakamali ko sayo naging mabuting tao ako. Kami ng pamilya ko pinagkatiwalaan ka nmin. Yung shabu at bisyo ilang araw lng mauubos n yan pero ang mga tao na kagaya namin di mo dapat ganyanin.” “Sa bawat luha na pumapatak sa akin puro kabutihan lahat nagawa ko sayo. Kikitain ko pa ang pera kaso pano ko isauli agad sa tao na nagmamay ari. Never ako nasira sa pera kaya wag mo gwin sa akin yan!”
The report cited that Amante initially asked Ruperto to retrieve something from her bedroom in their house in Las Piñas City last Tuesday.
Ruperto used to live with her before he ran away.
According to her, she didn’t suspect that he would steal from her since he returned from her room empty-handed.
Amante only discovered that her money – which amounted to almost PHP 400,000 – went missing when she asked her child to get some cash to give as a Christmas gift to their subdivision security guards.
She only found a measly PHP 20 inside her wallet after. Almost PHP 300,000 of her cash that was paid by lenders went missing. In addition, almost PHP 100,000 of her savings for their family vacation in Hong Kong went missing as well.
Amante learned that her nephew stole the cash that amounted to almost PHP 400,000 when she opened her Facebook account and saw pictures of him holding several paper bills. They also found out that he planned the whole thing days before he ran away.
She mentioned that she regrets the fact she took Ruperto in since he used to be a drug user and a suspect for the killing of a make-up artist.
Currently, Amante is asking for help to retrieve her nephew, if the public has any information whatsoever on his whereabouts she can be contacted at 0917-687-0330.
