Lechon being delivered despite flood brings smiles to Netizens

Filipinos
pride themselves on their resiliency against difficult situations. The ability to smile and keep going despite being weathered down by storms, both literally and figuratively, isn’t something uniquely ours but it’s essential to our everyday lives. This fact is true especially because the Philippines has always been frequented by tropical storms.
Strong rains and winds that are as fast as 102 kilometers per hour have landed in our cities. Trees have been shaken and houses have been torn apart by fierce storms liked Ondoy
and Yolanda. People have lost businesses, homes, and loved ones but still, they find it in themselves to keep being happy.
In the recent visit of tropical storm Vinta
in Cagayan de Oro, locals have prepared for the worst already. Adding to the idea that Filipinos are mentally strong, a netizen posted a light, humorous picture that perfectly describes how we still find the light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Despite the chest-high waters that flooded the streets, two delivery guys
crossed the waters to deliver a lechon. Some family must be having a really good party that couldn’t be stopped by a heavy storm. Terence Maceren posted the funny picture online and joked that he was going to invite the men over to his house so that they could enjoy the roasted pig. But unfortunately, the delivery guys just walked past his house.

It was what the internet needed during this calamity and several posts have been made about the picture. Some made jokes that the lechon was going to be delivered to their house while others commented on how they seem so nonchalant about everything like it was just another normal delivery for them.
But others weren’t that impressed and pointed out several things wrong with the picture. First of all, it was dangerous for the men to go and walk through the flood especially since there was a storm. Second, the situation presented health issues because the pig was not wrapped so it could easily be contaminated by the dirty waters.
Here are some of the netizens’ reactions to the story:
