Isang Grab Driver Ang Nagreklamo Dahil Imbis Na Pasalamatan Ay Binubog Pa Ito Matapos Nyang Isauli Ang Cellphone Ng May-Ari Na Naiwan Sa Kanyang Sasakyan.
While a number of Grab horror stories have been popping up on social media lately, this story of a Grab driver is different. What was supposed to be a tale of honesty and kindness turned out to be a story of abuse, as alleged by the original poster.
In a Facebook post by a Grab driver named Kiel Nigel Yabut, he narrated how he was driving a car for the car-booking app when he was matched with a passenger who was going to Kamuning. The trip was past midnight last February 9, and everything seemed normal at first. However, after dropping off his passenger, he noticed that someone left a mobile phone in his car.
Wanting to do the right thing and return the phone to its owner, Kiel coordinated with the Grab company itself to look for whomever left the phone behind.
He was finally able to contact the owner, and he said the latter sounded very kind over the phone. Kiel was even asked if he could return the phone right away, but he said he was already home. The owner insisted that it was an emergency and told the driver that they would pay him for the trouble if he brought back the phone right away.
Kiel refused the payment, but still drove back to the owner to return the phone.
However, instead of thanking him for his good deed, his former passenger accused him of being a thief and beat him up. He was even brought to the barangay hall, forcing him to admit that he deliberately stole the phone. Kiel vehemently denied the accusations, saying that he actually even went out of his way to return the lost phone without asking for anything in return.
Kiel then asked fellow netizens to share his post to help him get the justice he deserves.
