This man just wanted to go out for a walk on Christmas day when he accidentally discovered a huge egg on a riverbank in Argentina. He thought that it was a huge egg, but then, the experts believe that it was nothing but a glyptodon shell.
A local man thought that the black shaly shell that he found on his land was a dinosaur egg. It was even seen lying in the mud with a few parts buried.

The man who was identified as Jose Antonio Nievas found the shell beside a stream at their farm in Carlos Spegazzini at about 40 kilometers south of Buenos Aires.
His wife, Reina Coronel said: “My husband went out to the car and when he came back he said, ‘Hey, I just found an egg that looks like it came from a dinosaur,” she said.

“We all laughed because we thought it was a joke.”
Nievas then sought help from the experts in identifying what he had just discovered. He told the television channel Todo Noticias that hed found a shell that was partly covered in mud. Experts who saw the photos on television stated that the shell is similar to a glyptodon’s shell.

“There is no doubt that it looks like a glyptodont,” said paleontologist Alejandro Kramarz of the Bernadino Rivadavia Natural Sciences Museum.

“The animal became extinct thousands of years ago and it is very common to find their fossils in this region,” he told AFP.
Glyptodons are considered as the ancestors of the modern armadillos. Just like the armadillos, glyptodon’s have big round armored shells that weigh up to a ton!
