A recent video of Kapamilya darling Liza Soberano has been circulating on social media, proving once and for all that she is more than just a pretty face. In the 19-second video clip, published by a fan account named “SGLizaQuen,” Liza was spotted showing that she can move to the groove.

While it seemed like she was just making fun of the music, to which most people nowadays refer to as “budots,” netizens gushed over the fact that she could actually dance quite well. Even her pals were evidently amused by her antics. Truly, the Kapamilya sweetheart has more to offer apart from good looks and acting prowess.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Liza and her on-screen partner Enrique Gil will be top-billing the upcoming romance-fantasy primetime “Bagani,” alongside Sofia Andres, Matteo Guidicelli, and returning Kapamilya star Diether Ocampo.

However, the show drew flak on social media after many online users claimed that the show miscast characters chosen for a series that tackles the pre-colonial period of the Philippines due to the actors’ Eurocentric features. Some pointed out each of the cast’s roots, such as Liza (who’s half-American), Enrique (who hails from German and Spanish descent), and Matteo (who has an Italian father).

Amid the criticisms that the cast is facing from netizens, Liza stepped up to defend herself and her co-stars by attesting that they are true Filipinos.
She was quoted saying:
“And who says were not pinoy? My Father is full filipino. I was raised by two filipinos since the age of 4. I looooove sinigang i think thats as pinoy as pinoy can get.”
