A man from Florida willingly braved a seemingly impossible task after accidentally throwing off his wife’s lost wedding ring. On October 30, Brian McGuinn’s normal shower routine turned into a horrific nightmare after he accidentally threw away his wife’s wedding ring worth $10,000. What are the odds of that?
The couple only noticed the missing wedding ring when Anna McGuinn pointed it out the next morning. After retracing its places, Anna concluded that she placed the platinum ring in the bathroom. That’s when a sinking realization hit Brian. He accidentally threw the ring with his old razor!
Brian and Anna then proceeded to look for it in the trash but much to their horror, the couple remembered that Brian already took out the trash the previous night.
“Well no problem, we’ll go look at the kitchen trash and we’ll just fish it out- only to realize as I looked at him and his face dropped, it turned white as a ghost, that he had taken the trash out the night before.”
Despite this seemingly hopeless situation, Brian is not the type of person to quickly lose hope. This left him with no other choice but to go to the local dumpster and search for the lost wedding ring manually.
The landfill was swarming with nine tons of garbage and Brian had to swim through 10 feet pile of trash. What’s worse is he doesn’t even know the right place to start, so he had to go through every pile of trash.
Searching for the miniscule wedding ring among the tons of trash in the landfill is like finding a needle in a haystack, but Brian’s determination and perseverance paid off in the end. Fortunately, a kindhearted dump worker helped him sort out the trash with a bulldozer.
In the end, after an hour and a half of searching, Brian managed to find the lost wedding ring. After being dislodged with trash overnight, the once-shiny platinum ring is now strained so Brian had to take it to a jeweler’s shop for cleaning.
