He has harsh expectations and even harsher words for people and situations that do not conform to his ideals. We often hear President Duterte spit out curses and threats in his public speeches that remind everyone about the type of leader he is.
But this tough man isn’t hardly remains tough when he comes home to his family. Honeylet Avanceña, Duterte’s common-law wife, shared a wonderful and precious moment between her husband and his youngest daughter Kitty. It showed Kitty sitting on her father’s lap, eating some snacks, while the president lovingly hugged her from behind.
Duterte may not always speak about pleasant things especially with the rampant campaign against drugs. But when it comes to his family, Rodrigo Duterte has nothing but love. A previous interview with Kitty revealed that her father sheds his tough and calloused exterior and becomes soft and tender as soon as he steps inside their home. She even said that she is his weakness, typical of a great father-daughter relationship.
Netizens were touched by the sweet sight and couldn’t help but share their insights. Some stated that kids do not know how they become their parents’ source of strength especially when stressful times pile up on their shoulders. We are sure that a man with such a burden like President Duterte needs his family to remind him of the good things in life.
