Isang Babaeng Estudyante Ang Tumalon Mula Sa Sinasakyan Nyang Jeep Dahil Sa Masamang Tingin Ng Jeepney Driver Dito.
The alarming increase in reported abductions and assault of young women made people alert and wary of suspicious-looking characters. Recently, a spate of attempted kidnappings in Laguna further revealed the sinister nature of human trafficking and abuse to helpless victims. In a previous GMA report, the abducting survivor named Anna claimed that she glimpsed a headless body of a child inside the van used to kidnap her. And like Anna, a female student from Quezon City narrowly avoided a horrifying experience when she jumped off a speeding jeepney.
According to Kiara (not her real name), she was alone inside the jeepney when she noticed how the driver repeatedly looked at her as if plotting something against her. The young student persistently asked the driver to stop the vehicle so she could disembark. However, the driver appeared not to hear her and even stepped on the accelerator to speed up the vehicle.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Kiara recalled the terrifying incident last Monday, February 5:
“Tingin po siya (driver) nang tingin na parang may masamang balak. Nag-para po ako nang 3 beses. Sumisigaw na nga po ako, pero lalo pa po siya nagmadali.”
Out of fear and panic, Kiara decided to suddenly leap off from the speeding vehicle, never minding the repercussions after. Because of the jump, the student sustained minor injuries on her left elbow.
Surprised with Kiara’s action, the driver stopped the jeepney, prompting a traffic enforcer to walk towards the vehicle.
He was subsequently brought to a nearby precinct for questioning, but the motorist denied the passenger’s accusation of ill intentions towards her. He insisted:
“Hindi ko alam bakit pinagbibintangan ako eh di ko naman narinig. Kaya nga ako tumigil. Nagulat na lang ako na tumalon siya.”
For the meantime, the unnamed driver was not charged with anything yet. However, he could be facing grave coercion and physical injuries over the incident.
